Once upon a time, in a cozy burrow under a big oak tree, lived a little mole named Milo. Milo was small, even for a mole, but he had a very big dream. He wanted to see the sun. Every night, as the other moles slept, Milo would poke his tiny nose out of the hole and sniff the warm air. “The sun must be so beautiful,” he whispered to the moon.

One morning, Milo decided it was time. He dug and dug, pushing through the dark earth until he reached the surface. The first thing he saw was a golden light, so bright it made him blink. “Is that the sun?” he asked a passing ladybug. “Oh yes,” said the ladybug, “and she is smiling at you.” Milo felt a warm glow in his heart. It was better than he ever imagined.

But soon, Milo felt lonely. He missed his family and friends. He looked around and saw a dandelion. “Hello, little mole,” said the dandelion. “Why do you look sad?” Milo sighed, “I wanted to see the sun, and now I have, but I miss my home.” The dandelion nodded. “The sun is beautiful, but love is even more precious. Go back to your family. You can always visit the sun.”

Mole ran back to his burrow, but he found the entrance had been covered by fallen leaves. He tried to dig, but the earth had become hard. He started to cry. Just then, he heard a familiar voice. “Milo!” It was his mother. She had been looking for him! She hugged him tight. “I was so worried. We all were.” Milo told her everything. She smiled and said, “It is wonderful that you saw the sun, but remember, we are your world. And we love you.”

From that day on, Milo was happy. He still dreamed of the sun, but he knew he had something even better: a family that loved him. And every night, he would tell his siblings stories about the golden ball in the sky, filling their little burrow with warmth and wonder.
