In a lush green jungle, there lived a little monitor lizard named Monty. Monty was small but very curious. He loved exploring the jungle and meeting new friends. One sunny morning, Monty heard a sad cry. It was coming from a tall tree. He looked up and saw a baby bird stuck in a tangle of vines. The baby bird was scared and could not get free.

Monty wanted to help, but he was just a little lizard. He thought, ‘I am too small to climb that tree.’ But then he remembered what his mother always said: ‘You are braver than you think, and stronger than you seem.’

Monty took a deep breath and started to climb. The tree trunk was rough, but his tiny claws held tight. He climbed and climbed until he reached the baby bird. With his sharp teeth, he carefully bit through the vines. One by one, the vines fell away. The baby bird was free! ‘Thank you, Monty!’ chirped the bird. ‘You are my hero!’

Word spread about Monty’s brave deed. Soon, other animals came to him for help. A rabbit was stuck in a hole. Monty used his long tongue to pull the rabbit out. A turtle had lost its way. Monty showed the turtle the path home. Monty realized that even though he was small, he could do big things by being brave and kind.

One day, a storm swept through the jungle. The wind howled, and rain poured down. Many animals lost their homes. Monty did not give up. He gathered leaves and twigs to help build new shelters. He worked together with his friends. The bear carried heavy logs. The monkeys tied vines. The birds sang encouraging songs. Soon, they all had cozy homes again.

The jungle became a happy place because everyone helped each other. Monty learned that you don’t have to be big to make a difference. You just need a brave heart and a willingness to help. And so, every night, the animals would thank Monty, and he would smile, feeling proud and happy.

As the stars twinkled above, Monty would curl up in his cozy nest, dreaming of new adventures. His mother would whisper, ‘Goodnight, my brave little monitor lizard.’ And Monty would sleep peacefully, knowing that he was loved by all his friends.
